Students are banned from attending schools indefinitely since September 9 last following
the indefinite class boycott agitation launched by the three student bodies demanding to ensure the right to life of the people in the aftermath of the July 23 incident. Depriving students of their rights to education would also be loss of the society. It would not be acceptable to jeopardise the career of students because of the battle against the dumb and blind Government. Fumbling efforts of the Government at tackling the situation cannot be a good excuse. The conflicting parties must reconcile in no time and let the students study. Let the government perform or perish. |

It is indeed a pathetic situation we are faced with today. Its been more than a week now that schools have not been functioning while paying heed to the boycott call. And that there seems to be no tangible changes in stances of either side - the government and the agitating conglomerate of civil society bodies under the banner of Apunba Lup.
Acts of oppression and violation of human rights are being carried out unabated. The government which is doing nothing about the present depressing state of uncertainty. It is unfortunate that the government is not taking any step to break the deadlock. An amicable conclusion has to be brought soon, if not for anything else, then for the fact that held at ransom in the bitter tussle, are the academic careers of hundreds of thousand young students, who have already lost two months of valuable classes already |

Manipur People have suffered every form of harassment as well as the highest degree of injustice during The Chief Minister Okram Ibobi’s tenure. The agitating bodies should restrain themselves from boycotting classes indefinitely which could prove detrimental to the future and careers of the students of Manipur. Althought it is the only resort to excert pressure against the deaf, dumb and blind govt, any form of agitations will be more welcome. Closing educational institutions and coaching centres can be hazardous to the young minds as many of them are going to sit for their matriculation and intermediate exams. Many more are still at the most crucial juncture of their lives preparing for various competitive examinations.Ibobi must take up necessary measures toward resolving the present impasse or eslse He should relinquish his chair.

It is quite unfortunate that the govt doesn't concerned about the on-going school strike which is depriving thousands of school children of education and the government simply is satisfied pretending nothing worth its intervention is happening. It is high time Ibobi govt
resign and let fresh election be conducted for the people. We the people of Manipur for the love of money, elected unfamiliar, irresponsible persons during the time of general elections surrendering our right. Now allegations and blame games are doing their round. It’s the right time to fight from the grass roots level. |

Lamenting silent attitude of the central leader and the Manipur govt, Ibobi should resign and President’s Ruleshould be impossed. The constitutional mechanism has failed completely in the state. India boast of a big democratic country and origin of nonviolence means of agitation but the policies (Genocide) the country has been experimenting towards the people of the Northeast is worse than the colonial period. The current situation in the state is serious and must be addressed immediately.

The tug of war game between the people of Manipur on one side and the Ibobi Govt. at the other side. Can anybody guess, who is right? Who is wrong? God knows. The Questions now remains why is the matter not serious enough to come to an end? Since the Govt. had started the game it should do the finishing too. The finishing should be on the line of people’s movement.Or is it because there is acute leadership deficit in the state Congress? Is there no personality in the hierchy of state Congress who is capable of replacing the present CM?
Ask ordinary man or woman on the street if they want the current state of governmental inaction to continue and the government will have the answer in a flash. It is surprising that the answer has not become obvious to it already. Therefore let us join our hands unitedly and show the world that Democracy is indeed by the people, for the people and of the people. |
